1984 Inception of Tornado HVAC Trucks

With humble beginnings, emerged what has now become, a global player in the HVAC industry.

2005 Top Gun Boom

Our new “top gun” boom design replaces side boom design. This offers greatly improved mobility of the boom for increased operational efficiencies.

2012 Improved Designs

We standardize builds for optimal production to meet market demands and transitioned from roots blowers to the Robushi product line.

2015 ECO Product Launch

The Eco tank design, lighter than the previous truck designs to offer greater fuel-economy and on site performance.

2016 Designed to Perform

New tank improves weight distribution. Cyclone v3 design increases efficiencies. A curved tank floor improves load dumping.

2017 Technology Driven Design

New eco-lite tank, now 4000lbs lighter. New boom design replaces “top gun”. New rear door locking design.

2020 New Production Facility

TGHL acquires a new production facility in Red Deer AB, Canada. This move, dramatically scales production to meet market demand.

Brett Newton President & CEO

Brett is the President & Chief Executive Officer joining Tornado in June 2021. Brett is a hydrovac industry leader; he was the Vice President of Operations and Fleet Manager for Badger franchises in Toronto, Hamilton and Niagara. He started a successful hydrovac service operation in Ontario using Tornado trucks and, from 2016 to 2021, was a co-founding partner of Rival Hydrovac Inc.

Derek Li VP of Finance/Controller

Derek Li has spent over 18 years in finance positions at businesses in the manufacturing and oil & gas industries. For the last 6 years he has been overseeing finance at Tornado. Prior to this he was Regional Finance Manager for Clean Harbors, a North America’s leading provider of environmental and industrial services. From 2011 to 2015, he was Assistant Controller for Superior Gas Liquids, a division of Superior Plus, a leading North American distributor and marketer of propane and distillates and related products and services. Mr. Li is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada and an Executive MBA Candidate at the Haskayne School of Business.

Al Robertson Chief Financial Officer

Chief Financial Officer of Tornado since July 2017. Prior to this he was Chief Financial Officer of CYGAM Energy Inc., a TSX Venture Exchange listed oil and gas company with operations in Tunisia and Italy. From 1982 to 1996, he had a 14-year career culminating as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Nowsco Well Service Ltd., a TSX and NASDAQ listed oilfield service company with operations in Canada, the US and internationally. He is also a former Director and Chairman of the audit committee of Wentworth Resources Ltd (formerly Artumas Group Inc.), an Oslo listed public company involved in oil and gas and power generation, with operations in East Africa. Mr. Robertson is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.
